Sharing Time & Happiness: SOS Children's Villages @ Hat Yai, Songkhla province

As we approach new year, many children may receive gifts and get to do activities with their family but for orphans it may be difficult to experience this. The gift that they want may not only be items.

Khun Phanarat Chaikaew SGM of Makro Hatyai together with staff gave 50 of Makro’s 30th anniversary running shirts and necessities to SOS Children's Villages at Hat Yai, Songkhla province which is 1 of 5 branches of SOS Children’s Villages Thailand Foundation. The foundation was established in 1971 to help children that lost their parents and have no family by creating a sustainable family based support system so that the children can work and take care of themselves without becoming a burden to the society.

Khun Phanarat or P’Taln talks about this activity, “I see the importance of sports and by doing CSR in giving sports shirts to support the children’s sports activity here gives them and children in the area in becoming more physically active and gain unity, sportsmanship that is a foundation of a good citizen in the future. Here we share good health and learn how to live together in the society. Same as Makro Hatyai, we also have our annual sports event to allow our staff to relax and bond together as well as getting gaining better health so they can have better performance.”
