Last year, 2019, Makro celebrates its 30th year in doing business in Thailand by holding our first charity run “Makro Run for Fund” on 23rd October 2019 to raise fund for project in building Hen House for sustainable lunch in 30 police border patrol schools and rural schools throughout Thailand. This project is in collaboration with our business partners and Charoen Pokphand for Rural Lives' Development Foundation.

Today, Makro led by Khun Suchada Ithijarukul Group Chief Executive Officer - Siam Makro together with Cyber Print Group Company and Rotary Club of Bangkok Vibhavadi in dedicating all 30 Hen Houses under the project “Hen House for Sustainable lunch” at Ban Koak Plai School, Tambol Thap-raj Amphur Ta-praya Sakaeo province. Khun Boonlert Khonsaard representative for the Secretary of the Office of the Basic Education Commission in receiving the project and Khun Wittaya Makpan Deputy Sakaeo Governor presided over the ceremony.

On the same day, Makro Sakaeo staff gave knowledge to students through the projects “Young Shohuay” where they teach 8 principles of retail management for students to manage their school’s shop. The team also teach students on how to make bakery with the key ingredient “eggs” from their own hen house. So that one day if the students want to own their own business, i.e. Shohuay shop or mini mart, they will have some foundation to build up from.
