
Siam Makro Public Company Limited launches the first-ever Makro Digital Store in Lat Krabang, seamlessly connecting staff, suppliers and customers through the use of AI. The store is the prototype for Foodservice model capable of delivering added values in 4 dimensions - increased efficiency, better service, energy saving, and lower environmental impact. It would also diminish recurring retail issues including lack of stock, long queues, and quality control. Makro’s in-store advertisements are also digitalized corresponding to the dynamic of the IoT generation while maintaining the Company’s position as “Your Trusted Partner” for modern professional customers.

Makro Digital Store Lat Krabang located on 6,700 square meters plot of land. It was designed and constructed with digital technologies fully implemented into its management operation; from cashiers to shelves, stock inventory, e-commerce system, and overall energy consumption. All the data and details can be immediately monitored via the Operation Dashboard.
Through technological implementation, Makro is delivering added values in 4 dimensions as follows:
• Better Customer Service – With AI Cameras monitoring movements of goods on the shelves, staff can easily and timely fill up the shelves; thus, ensuring product availability for the customers. The innovative Queue Buster also helps making purchase much faster and reducing waiting time at the cashier.
• Higher Management Efficiency – The store’s ESL (Electronic Shelf Label) effectively revises price tags with just a few clicks, eliminating pain-staking task of replacing every pieces of papers. Picking Solution provide convenient delivery of goods directly to the hands of customers. Smart Cooling System makes temperature control more precise and ensures every produce remains fresh and of highest quality.
• Long-term Energy Conservation – The Solar Panel installed on the rooftop generates clean energy for the store and contributes up to 35% of energy and electricity conservation.
• Lower Environmental Impact – The Eco-Friendly Dashboard can help cut down greenhouse gas emission up to 798,000 kilogram per year. Water Loop Heat Exchange System can reduce energy consumption by dividing the cooling system into smaller independent units that are easily controlled through the command center (accessible via tablets). There are also Charging Station at the parking lots available for customers with Electric Vehicles.
Furthermore, every staff member will be trained to ensure their thorough knowledge and understanding of all the new technologies within the store. Also, in the beginning, the staff will carefully instruct customers to familiarize themselves with the new digital system until they are well adept with the technologies.
