Makro launches “Buy More Get More” promotion under “30 Years 30 Million” loyalty campaign Taking advantage of Big Data to drive sales growth with e-Stamp and Lucky Draw

Siam Makro Public Company Limited launches new loyalty campaign “Buy More Get More” with its popular e-Stamp and Luck Draw activities to encourage more spending and drive sales growth. The campaign, with its 30-million-baht budget, was articulately designed to captivate consumers of the 4.0 era by making uses of the Company’s Big Data analysis. 

Mrs. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Marketing Officer, Siam Makro Public Company Limited, disclosed that on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of Siam Makro, the largest wholesale membership distributor in Thailand, the Company aims to establish itself as “Makro 4.0 Enhancing People’s Lives” under the new concept of “The Creative Companionship towards Sustainability”. Through Big Data analysis of over 3 million registered customers, Makro wishes to celebrate this special occasion and also express gratitude towards its customers by launching the new digital campaign “30 Years 30 Million”, from 19 June to 28 August 2019, at Makro stores nationwide. 

“With a budget of 30 million baht, Makro launches e-Stamp (worth 20 million baht) and Lucky Draw (worth 10 million baht) programs as a way to pay back to its customers. And to best serve all the customers, from entrepreneurs to shop owners and HoReCa professionals, the Company used its Big Data Analytics to dissect their needs and behaviors as to effectively accommodate to their demands.”

This is the first campaign that Makro aims to attract all of its member customer by transitioning from offline to online. To make a smooth transition, Makro chose the popular “Stamp-collecting Campaign” and its signature “Lucky Draw Campaign” as a strategy to engage its regular patrons; however, it replaced paper stamps with e-Stamps which customers can collect via Makro application. The Company also put more importance on online marketing communications in addition to the usual media announcements within stores. 
“Today, most of our customers have access to online channels which can be seen from their responses through Makro Mobile Application, Makro Line Official, Makroclick.com, and Chohuaythai.com. The online technologies open up a new door for our brand to communicate and allow our customers to easily access information about their benefits. By connecting our online and offline services, when a customer makes a purchase, they will earn e-Stamps which can be exchanged for cash vouchers. They will also get a chance to win prizes from our daily Lucky Draw. Nonetheless, the main highlights of this campaign will be in August as it is the anniversary month we first started our business in Thailand.”

  • Conditions for e-Stamp Collection: Customer will receive 1 e-Stamp for every 3,000 bath spent (5 e-Stamps can be exchanged for a 100-bath voucher / capped at 500 bath)
  • Conditions for Voucher Exchange: Customer can exchange their e-Stamps for cash vouchers on 7-30 September 2019, via Makro application or at customer service counters in-store. 
  • For every purchase, customer will get a chance to win prizes from the Lucky Draw which include discounts from Makro worth over 10 million baht. 

“In addition to paying back to our customers in celebration of Makro’s 30th Anniversary with the ‘30 Years 30 Million’ campaign, we hope that this promotional activity will also boost sales growth and speed-up the number of Makro application downloads to 1,000,000. This is the biggest loyalty program we have ever launched; thus, we expect to not only retain, but also expand our customer case even further,” Mrs. Siriporn concluded.
